Mo Gilligan’s latest stand up is an absolute must-see.

This phenomenally talented comic has attracted the attention of celebrities, stand-up enthusiasts and beyond since he began to share his work online.

The 31-year-old English comedian found success after sharing clips on social media, emerging onto the scene back in 2017. Many of his adoring fans will know him as the host of his own show – The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan – which arrived on Channel 4 earlier in 2019.

When Mo used to work in retail his comedy clips began to get shared around and customers would even recognise him. However, you know it’s getting really serious when big names like Drake start quoting your material on Instagram… Since then, he’s been on the aforementioned show, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year and has hosted The Big Narstie Show.

His latest treat is stand-up special Mo Gilligan: Momentum which is available to stream on Netflix now. Since it landed, more have been pondering about his personal life.

Does Mo Gilligan have a wife?

No, there is no reason to believe that the comedian is married.

As we’ll get onto exploring, Mo leads a very personal life, which you may find odd; comedians often love ranting about their home lives and so forth. However, there really is very little known about his love life, with his own social media offering very little clues or leads to suggest he’s with anyone.

On the other hand, if you trace backwards, the TV personality was definitely seeing someone last year…

The last we heard…

According to Romper, some insight was shed upon his relationship status back in 2018.

They note that the Evening Standard said that Mo actually had a longterm girlfriend. Who was it? Well, they say it was actress Sophie Wise!

She first appeared on screens back in 2002 after landing a role in a film called The Emperor’s Club (she played Brunette). The Michael Hoffman production features some serious talent, with the likes of Paul Dano (There Will be Blood), Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), Emile Hirsch (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and more also starring.

However, she’s best known for the role of Carly in Hollyoaks, appearing in a number of episodes in 2015. Since then, she’s been in such shows as Doctors (Rachel Kidd), Rillington Place (Brenda) and even Holby City (Tavia Milner) earlier this year.

It’s uncertain whether they’re still dating, but considering how low-key Mo is about his personal life, it’s not worth ruling out that perhaps they’re still together. If you head over to Twitter, you’ll see that Sophie wrote back on Tuesday, May 21st 2019 (see below tweet): “Scientifically impossible to wake Mo up from a nap.” You can follow her on Twitter over at @SophieWisey; although it doesn’t confirm they were together then, it is very likely. Talk about keeping your private life private!

Follow Mo on Instagram!

If you’re a fan of his, be sure to follow him over on Instagram if you haven’t already.

You can find him at @mothecomedian; he has 547k followers. However, if you’re looking for any relationship gossip on there, you’ll be disappointed. There’s lots of promotion for his comedy work, but as we say, Mo certainly likes to keep his love life private.

Also, if you’re yet to see it, Mo Gilligan: Momentum is available to stream on Netflix now.
