Spurs suffered Champions League humiliation on Tuesday night when they were battered 7-2 by a Serge Gnabry inspired Bayern Munich.

Pressure is rising on Mauricio Pochettino both inside and outside the dressing room with ESPN claiming that a number of Tottenham Hotspur players were left baffled by the manager’s tactics during that humiliating Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.
Spurs were thumped 7-2 in North London by the Bundesliga leaders on Tuesday night, the first time they have ever, in their entire history, conceded seven goals on home soil.
And Pochettino has been forced to accept the brunt of the criticism with his decision to play a narrow midfield diamond coming back to haunt him.
The new-look formation did manage to get the best out of Heung Min-Son, whose direct runs in a more central role caused Bayern’s problems and lead to the opening goal, but it also left the Spurs midfield oh so vulnerable against rampant, ravenous opponents inspired by the skill and craft of Philippe Coutinho and Thiago Alcantara.

According to ESPN, a number of senior players weren’t happy with the decision to play with a 4-1-2-1-2 formation in their second European game of the season and their worst fears were realised with Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele drawn out of position and reduced to chasing shadows.
This is not the first time Pochettino has got it wrong this season either. Suddenly, one of the world's most respected coaches is having to field a few questions.
