Leeds United winger Jack Harrison played alongside Spain legend David Villa during his time in the MLS at New York City.

Barcelona legend David Villa has labelled Leeds United winger Jack Harrison as a ‘golden boy’ on Instagram after he helped his team to a 1-0 win over West Brom on Tuesday night.

Harrison, who played in the MLS alongside Villa at New York City, started the Albion clash and played the full match as Ezgjan Alioski scored the only goal of the game.

For the second season running, Manchester City loanee, Harrison is on-loan at Elland Road and he will be hoping this time it ends with promotion.

This was the message Villa sent to Harrison via his personal Instagram account:

Whilst Leeds picked up all three points last night, one thing they have been lacking for one and a bit seasons is that proper killer instinct in front of goal.

That inability to kill off teams seems to have crept into this campaign as well and the Leeds faithful need a David Villa like player up front, who can punish the opponents at any moment.

Patrick Bamford and Eddie Nketiah are the men assigned to do that job this season. Marcelo Bielsa is yet to hand a start to the Arsenal loanee in the Championship, but if he continues to have the impact he has had then it’ll bode well for the team.

Nonetheless, Leeds are sitting top of the Championship table after 10 games and they face another tough test at the weekend when they take on Millwall.
