Liverpool take on Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League this evening.

Liverpool starting XI: Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Liverpool substitutes: Kelleher, Lovren, Milner, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Origi.

Liverpool kicked off their group stage campaign with a 2-0 defeat in Napoli, and now play their first Anfield Champions League game since winning last season’s competition.

The Reds were dealt a blow in the build-up to the game, as defender Joel Matip was ruled out through injury, though Sadio Mane was passed fit to play.

Adrian starts in goal this evening as Liverpool fans wait for Alisson to return from injury, with Joe Gomez coming in for Matip at the back.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson join Gomez in the four-man defence, with Fabinho as the holding midfielder.

Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum join Fabinho in midfield, with Mane joining Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in the Liverpool attack.

Caiomhin Kelleher is named on the bench as the backup goalkeeper rather than Andy Lonergan, with Dejan Lovren, James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana and Divock Origi also on the bench.
