Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could recall Alisson back to his side’s starting line-up.
Alisson has been out of action for Liverpool since the very first game of the season, after he picked up an injury.
The Brazilian has been eager to come back, and is now very close to making a return.
Alisson has been back in Liverpool training and he has caught Klopp’s eye over the past few days.
However, Liverpool’s medical team are urging Klopp to be cautious with the goalkeeper.
“There are two opinions. One is Ali, one is the medical department. We should wait,” Klopp said, ahead of Liverpool’s game with Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League tomorrow.
“We have to see. He’s training well but it was a serious injury. We won’t take a risk. We’ll have to see for Leicester but United 100 percent.”
Klopp is in a fortuitous position where he is not under any huge pressure to rush Alisson back, as Adrian has been solid in his absence.
The Spaniard has barely put a foot wrong since stepping into Liverpool’s team, with his displays earning him a great deal of credit.
That said, Alisson’s return will make Liverpool an even tougher team to break down, and his return to fitness should be a huge boost to Klopp’s side.
