Jonson Clarke-Harris's brilliant League One form has reportedly caught the eye of Jonathan Woodgate's Championship strugglers Boro.

Middlesbrough are interested in signing Bristol Rovers striker Jonson Clarke-Harris as Jonathan Woodgate looks to add a clinical goalscorer to his squad in the January transfer window, according to the Bristol Post.
It is no secret that Woodgate wants to move away from the pragmatism of the Tony Pulis era but it’s taking a while for the changes to take effect. The North East giants are 19th in the Championship right now, winning just two out of nine matches and scoring a goal-a-game on average.
As a result, Woodgate is scouring the market for players capable of making the difference in the final third and Clarke-Harris is right at the top of his hit list after a superb start to 2019/20. Boro's head of recruitment Gary Gill is understood to have watched the 25-year-old Clarke-Harris for some time now.
The Leicester-born striker has scored 19 goals in 29 games since joining Bristol Rovers from Coventry City in January and, with his foot very much on The Gas, the League One outfit are desperate to tie him down to a new contract with his current deal set to expire in 2021.

The report adds that a new contract would see Clarke-Harris become Bristol Rovers’ highest paid player, though the chance to lead the line for a club with the stature of Middlesbrough should at least make him consider his future at the Memorial Stadium.
The question is; can Clarke-Harris make the difference at Championship level?
