Celtic, Rangers, Arsenal and Manchester United are all competing in the Europa League this season.

Chris Sutton has boldly claimed that Arsenal & Manchester United would ‘struggle’ to finish above Celtic or Rangers in Scotland, as he was judging them on the performance both teams put in during their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last night.

During that encounter, Sutton sarcastically stated that Premier League football was at its ‘very best’, with a supporter stating that Arsenal and Manchester United would still beat Celtic or Rangers despite producing such a lacklustre display.

Sutton, in his own typical way, then responded by saying that the English duo would ‘struggle’ to finish in the top-two in Scotland from what he saw at Old Trafford.

These were the messages sent by the former Premier League winner, as he was clearly unimpressed with the quality on show in Manchester.

All four teams mentioned are currently in the Europa League, and if they can maintain their status in the competition then they may well clash down the line.

It would be one hell of an encounter if any of those were to meet, with the quartet in Europa League action on Thursday night.

Rangers will travel to Switzerland to take on Young Boys, with Celtic hosting the team that knocked them out of the Champions League reckoning – CFR Cluj.

As for Arsenal, they face a tough home encounter against Belgian side Standard Liege, whilst Manchester United are also on the road to face AZ Alkmaar.
