Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are not accepting Serge Aurier's apology after he was sent off during their win against Southampton on Saturday.

At the time, Spurs were winning the game 1-0, and then Aurier was shown two yellow cards in less than 10 minutes, with his first challenge on Boufal being very rash.

The Saints would go on to equalise, but that wasn't because they had the extra man, it was because of Hugo Lloris' woeful mistake three yards from his goal.

Luckily for Aurier and Lloris, they had Harry Kane on hand to ensure that their already bad week didn't end on an even more sour note because just before the break, he struck what turned out to be the winning goal.

Nonetheless, Aurier stated that he was 'sorry' for 'giving up' on his team during such an important period, as quoted by Football London.

Spurs fans simply felt that their senior right-back wasn't learning from his mistakes and his apology are just words as they seemingly would like to see some positive action from him.

On Tuesday night, Mauricio Pochettino's side will take on German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League, as they cannot afford such mistakes to occur during that mouthwatering clash.

Whilst a team like Southampton failed to punish Spurs, a team like Bayern won't let them off, so the North London outfit will have to be at their utmost best.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to Aurier's comments about his sending-off from the weekend:
