Leeds United fans baffled by Macauley Bonne's comments

Despite only being a newly-promoted side, Lee Bowyer's Charlton Athletic proved their worth against Leeds United over the weekend.

Leeds United supporters on Twitter have been left perplexed at the comments that were made by Charlton forward Macauley Bonne.

The 23-year-old attacker scored the only goal of the game as Lee Bowyer's side overcame automatic-chasers Leeds at the Valley on Saturday afternoon.

In a week where Leeds were surprisingly awarded FIFA's Fair Play award, Bonne was asked whether Marcelo Bielsa's side were 'fair' during their Championship clash, to which Bonne stated that they were.

But then the forward claimed that "there was one thing happened today that I won't mention until it comes out later," as quoted by The Yorkshire Evening Post.

It has left Leeds fans questioning as to what he is talking about as they are trying to find out whether they can spot anything that may have happened during the game.

Bonne, who was playing in the National League last season, was making his first league start for Charlton because of injuries to the forward areas and he didn't disappoint when given the chance.

From Leeds' perspective, it was another Championship encounter where they dominated every aspect, apart from actually putting the ball into the back of the net and walking away with all the points.

It remains to be seen whether more will come from Bonne's comments, as Leeds will now prepare for a Tuesday night clash against current leaders and the unbeaten West Brom.
