Leeds United lost 1-0 away at Charlton Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United suffered their first away defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling to a 1-0 loss away at Charlton Athletic.

The Whites were looking to hit back having thrown away two points at home to Derby County last weekend, but never really going at The Valley.

Charlton opened the scoring through striker Macauley Bonne in the first half, and that promoted Marcelo Bielsa to make two changes at half time, bringing on Adam Forshaw and Eddie Nketiah.

That didn’t really make too much of a difference, as Leeds – whilst having plenty of possession and shots – couldn’t find the breakthrough, and went home empty-handed.

With just three goals scored in the last four league games, Leeds have just suffered a little dip going forward, and the performance of winger Helder Costa didn’t help on Saturday.

The £32,500-a-week winger (Spotrac) is currently on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Leeds agreeing to pay £15million for him permanently next summer.

Costa hasn’t had much of an impact so far, and after being given a start on Saturday, fans have been slating the Portuguese wide man for a poor display.

Some think Leeds have ‘had their pants pulled down’ by agreeing pay £15million for him, noting that he was the ‘worst player on the pitch’ and didn’t live up to expectations in a rare start.
