The Baggies loanee is quick becoming a fan favourite for the West Brom contingent as the Hawthorns side remains unbeaten in the Championship this season.
A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to comment on their side’s 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers which sent them top of the Championship table and, out of a superb team display, one of the main recipients of praise was Matheus Pereira.
The 23-year-old was sensational as the Baggies won at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, showing impressive footwork as he had the opposition defenders on strings for much of the game, and he claimed the killer second goal for West Brom – and his first for Slaven Bilic’s side – via a free kick.
Here is some of the social media reaction by The Hawthorns faithful to the Sporting Lisbon loanee’s showing – that potential £9million permanent deal (Express & Star) could almost be deemed a bargain:
Can’t see krov getting his number 10 spot back imo. Pereira has been superb in that role. He’s a pleasure to watch. His vision and control #WBA— DOOD (@DoodWBA) September 28, 2019
And doesn’t he deserve that? Pereira, who has been absolutely majestic, cheekily finds the bottom corner with the free-kick. #wba— Joseph Masi (@JosephMasi_Star) September 28, 2019

Sawyers never loses the ball.
Ferguson is unreal.
Pereira is the best player in the league.
Ajayi is a brick wall.
Team plays with absolutely no fear or pressure.
Unbeaten and top of the league.
I love you @wba#wba
I’d sign him now— steve WBA (@stevhc) September 28, 2019
Brilliant performance & away day. Didn’t give QPR a sniff all game, impressive considering how they’ve done this season. Pereira absolutely ran the show #wba— Tomwba (@Tomwba98) September 28, 2019
Pereira has got the best vision I’ve ever seen a player in a Baggies shirt have. What a player. Get him signed up permanently— Nathan (@NathanLxxe) September 28, 2019
pereira, quality all round. vision is exceptional— ً (@ChxzzyAustin) September 28, 2019
Had more faith in Pereira scoring that free kick (so did my 2 year old) than Robson kanu tucking away the 1-on-1. #wba— Tom (@tomjman) September 28, 2019
Pereira is a joke too. What a player.— Callum Burns (@CallumWBA) September 28, 2019
West Brom dominated the lunchtime kickoff in London from start to finish, and were rewarded when teenager Nathan Ferguson beat Joe Lumley at his near post with a long-range effort in the 53rd minute to also claim his first senior goal for the Baggies.
After Yoann Barbet was shown a straight red card for his last-man foul on Robson-Kanu, Pereira’s free kick helped send Bilic’s side top of the Championship table – where they remain following Leeds United’s defeat – and kept intact their unbeaten start to the season.
