Ozan Tufan has captained Fenerbahce in the Super Lig this season with Crystal Palace interested in taking him to the Premier League.
Crystal Palace are sending scouts to Turkey to watch Fenerbahce midfielder OzanTufan, according to Fotospor – and not for the first time.
With 45 caps for the Turkish national team on his CV at the age of just 24, the central midfielder-turned-right-back is one of his country’s most accomplished players right now.
Tufan has even captained Fenerbahce this season with the giants of Istanbul sitting second in the Super Lig table, after narrowly avoiding relegation in a dismal 2018/19 campaign.
So Fener will obviously be hoping to keep hold of the former Bursaspor star at least until the end of the season but that is easier said than done. Fotospor claim that Tufan is a target for Crystal Palace, St Etienne and Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Crystal Palace have been interested for some time with Fanatik claiming in June 2018 that The Eagles had made a £2.5 million bid for a player who caught the eye for Turkey at Euro 2016.
But with Roy Hodgson’s side lacking depth at right-back following the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tufan is arguably needed more than ever at Selhurst Park.
And with 2.8 tackles per game on average, a tally higher than Luka Milivoljevic, James McCarthy and Max Meyer, he could add some steel to a midfield that was torn apart like tissue paper in the recent 4-0 hammering at Tottenham.
