Leeds United parted ways with Kemar Roofe in the summer as they replaced their striker with Eddie Nketiah.

Kemar Roofe made his first appearance for Anderlecht since leaving Leeds United in the summer and he stated on Instagram that he is pleased to have got the ‘job done’ after a ‘dramatic’ debut.

Anderlecht netted an extra-time winner to beat Beerschot 3-2 in the Belgian Cup, with Roofe’s replacement, Isaac Kiese Thelin scoring the winning goal.

It was Roofe’s first start for Anderlecht since leaving Leeds, and it is fair to say that it’s a debut that he will remember for a long while.

After the game, this is what Roofe posted on his personal Instagram account, with his ex-Leeds teammate, Tyler Roberts simply responding with a message saying, ‘he’s back’.

There are calls for Nketiah to be given his first league start at the weekend when Leeds take on Charlton Athletic at the Valley.

As for Roofe, he has a chance to make a name for himself in Belgium, where he will be working alongside Premier League legend Vincent Kompany.
