Jordon Ibe came close to a summer move to Celtic.
Jordon Ibe came close to a summer move to Celtic, with The Sun reporting in late August a deal could still be done.
It didn't quite materialise and Ibe has had to wait for his chance back at Bournemouth.
He made his second start of the season last night in the Carabao Cup and it did not end well.
Bournemouth were well beaten by League One side Burton Albion, succumbing to a 2-0 defeat.
This was a bitter blow for Ibe, who has played only 48 minutes of Premier League football all season.
Cherries boss Eddie Howe would have hoped for him to really stake a claim for a regular spot, but instead he damaged his cause if anything.
Celtic might have a chance of prising him away from England's south coast if they return in January.
Ibe has a tough task ahead to turn his fortunes around.
Here is a look at how Bournemouth fans reacted to his performance...
This is surely the end for Jordon Ibe.— Mike Brannan (@hithisiswes) September 25, 2019
Feel bad for Jordon, but he will take the time over the summer break to recharge before going again in next season's Carabao. #afcb— Bright Young Eddie (@EddieHowe1977) September 26, 2019
#afcb In fairness the floodlights have had more action than Solanke and Jordon— Ashley Grant (@ashleyafcb1) September 25, 2019
Newsflash... Ibe makes meaningful contribution by getting booked #afcb— babyduck (@babyduck999) September 25, 2019
Why the hell do we bother starting Solanke and Ibe as they’re absolutely useless. Should’ve started at least King or C Wilson. Defence also an absolute shambles. Don’t appreciate just how important Ake and Cook are until they’re left out. #AFCB #BURBOU— Jake (@Typhoon_97_) September 25, 2019
