The teenage talent got a massive opportunity in Neil Lennon's side at Celtic Park.
Jeremie Frimpong has impressed Celtic supporters after making his debut for the club in the Scottish League Cup on Wednesday night.
The 18-year-old right-back was thrown into the starting eleven by Lennon after an injury to Moritz Bauer, with Hatem Abd Elhamed played centrally in an effort to rest Christopher Jullien.
Signed from Manchester City at the end of the summer transfer window, not much was known about the youngster prior to the match, which the Hoops ended up winning 5-0.
With pace and attacking ambition, he demonstrated he could be a big asset for Celtic on the right flank if given more chances.
He also made a crucial and brave defensive intervention in the first half, getting to a crossed ball ahead of an opposition attacker to save Craig Gordon needing to make a stop.
Although it must be remembered it's very early days in his Celtic career, Frimpong can be pleased with his initial impression.
He's proved to his manager, teammates and fans he can be trusted at domestic level.
It was no surprise to see him get a standing ovation from fans when he was substituted off late on.
With Bauer and Elhamed ahead of him, competition is strong, but it'd be foolish to bet against him making more appearances over the coming weeks and months.
Celtic are now heading into the semi-finals of the competition and can look forward to a Hampden date.
These fans were delighted with Frimpong, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts...
