Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest 5-0 on Tuesday night.
Arsenal defender Rob Holding has told the club's official website that new forward Gabriel Martinelli has 'been a handful' in training.
The Gunners took on Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, and eased to a 5-0 win with Martinelli getting on the scoresheet twice.
Martinelli opened the scoring with a fine header, before Holding, Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson added goals, and Martinelli then curled home a fine long-range strike to round off the scoring.
A number of young players impressed, but it was forward Martinelli who grabbed the headlines with his brace in his first competitive start.
Signed from Ituano this summer, Martinelli arrived as something of an unknown, but made a real impression on fans at the Emirates Stadium last night.
Fans took to Twitter to compare him to Liverpool's Roberto Firmino, seemingly impressed with his all-round performance in the thrashing of the Championship side.
Now, teammate Holding has admitted that Martinelli has been 'a handful' in training, praising him as a 'sharp lad' and hopes he can continue to impress.
“Yeah, he’s been a handful in training,” said Holding. “He’s a sharp lad and he’s a natural finisher. You saw that header, he’s a small lad and he got up there and won it. He’s impressive so hopefully he can continue with that,” he added.
