Could Sead Haksabanovic be on his way out of the Premier League and West Ham United after with a move to Serie A on the cards?
Sead Haksabanovic is finally starting to live up to his potential during yet another loan spell away from West Ham United. And, according to Expressen, the fleet-footed winger has been so impressive in recent months that even Fiorentina want to sign him.
West Ham fans would be forgiven for forgetting all about Haksabanovic.
Two years after moving to the London Stadium in a £2.7 million deal from Halmstad (BBC), the 20-year-old has made just a pair of first-team appearances – and neither of those have come in the Premier League.
And after a nightmare spell at Malaga in the Spanish second tier, the Swedish-born forward returned home this summer in an attempt to get his career back on track with Norrkoping. He’s succeeded, too.
The Montenegro international has been the best player in an otherwise ordinary team, producing five assists in 19 games and transitioning from an explosive winger into a clever and creative central midfielder.
And according to Expressen, Haksabanovic’s form hasn’t gone unnoticed with Fiorentina interested in partnering him with the likes of Frederico Chiesa and Franck Ribery at the Serie A giants.
But with Haksabanovic finally starting to come good, surely West Ham have to consider giving him a second chance, right?
