Chelsea fans urge Frank Lampard to re-sign Bournemouth's Nathan Ake

Nathan Ake developed as Chelsea as a youngster before being sold by Bournemouth in 2017.

Chelsea fans have suggested that buying Nathan Ake could be an option for Frank Lampard.

Chelsea’s transfer ban could come to an end in January, or at the very latest next summer.

BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has now suggested that Ake could be a great addition to the Blues’ squad.

“I don't know what Ake would cost for Chelsea to buy him back but if I was them I would seriously consider it,” he said.

And Chelsea fans agree with the pundit, as they feel Ake could be an excellent signing.

Ake spent five years at Chelsea as a youngster, but was only given limited game time at Stamford Bridge.

Since moving to Bournemouth in 2017 the Dutch international has gone on to prove his worth, and is now regarded as one of the best defensive talents in the Premier League.

Ake is still only 24, so theoretically still has his best years ahead of him, and Chelsea have a buy back clause which means they can get him for £40 million (Telegraph).

If he was to move to Chelsea he could offer Lampard’s side further depth at centre-back.

At the moment Fiyako Tomori, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Kurt Zouma are among the players competing for a place in Chelsea’s defence.
