Arsenal youngster scored in win over Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli scored twice in a 5-0 Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest.

The Brazilian was a summer signing from Ituano for just £6 million.

He made a good early impression in pre-season but has had to wait for his chance at a competitive level.

Martinelli scored in the first half at The Emirates, heading in an excellent cross from Callum Chambers. His second came in injury time and was even better, curling in a superb effort from 20 yards out.

Martinelli’s performance had Arsenal supporters comparing him to another Brazilian.

They compared his movement and technique to Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.

Martinelli is just 19-years-old so has plenty of room to improve. But the early signs are really positive.

There is a case for the Gunners to include him on the bench this coming week against Manchester United with Alexandre Lacazette out injured.

He will at least get chances in the next round of the Carabao Cup and most likely the Europa League.

Martinelli has certainly left Gunners fans wanting more…
