Arsenal supporters on Twitter are overjoyed that Danny Welbeck scored his first goal for Watford on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup.
The 28-year-old was released by Arsenal in the summer after numerous injuries stagnated his career at the Emirates Stadium, as he made the switch to Vicarage Road in order to get his career back on track.
Well, on Tuesday, he netted his first goal for the Hornets, as he helped out-of-form Watford beat Championship side Swansea City 2-1 on home soil.
Whilst Welbeck was banging them in for his new club, his former club were dispatching Nottingham Forest 5-0 not far from Vicarage Road, as they could potentially meet in the next round.
Nonetheless, they were pleased to see him off the mark at his new club because whilst it didn't end well at the Emirates because of those injuries, he is still well respected for what he did for the club.
Watford have endured a number of indifferent performances this season, with Javi Gracia being sacked during the international break and replaced by Quique Sanchez Flores.
A week ago, they came from two goals down to record a draw against Arsenal in the Premier League before they were well and truly walloped by Manchester City at the weekend.
Welbeck didn't play in any of those matches, but he is back now, scoring and whilst Watford fans will be pleased to see him on the pitch, fans of his former club are also delighted that he is enjoying himself once again.
Here is a selection of Arsenal fans reacting to Welbeck's first goal for his new club:
Welbeck and santi scoring. Iwobi assist. Spuds knocked out. Tierney and bellerin back. Saka and martinelli impressive. Chambers monstrous! Love it.— KURTIS (@afcKURTISkps) September 24, 2019
