Everton boss Marco Silva has fallen under increasing pressure at Goodison Park of late.
Everton fans have been left less than impressed by Marco Silva’s comments, even though they were intended as a rallying cry.
Everton lost 2-0 to Sheffield United at the weekend, which has heaped the pressure on Silva.
The Portuguese boss’s side have performed well below expectations this season, and they currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League table.
He said: “We have to show the personality and desire this club demands. Playing for this club you are asking about the pressure of the reaction (from fans) as well, playing at this type of club, you have to show that reaction, whoever you are.
“To be an Everton football player, an Everton manager to represent this club you have to show a really strong personality and character, and that desire we have to put from the first until the end, and after we will see the results.
However, his words have not really have the intended impact on the Everton crowd.
Toffees fans claim that they have heard similar from previous managers before, and Silva needs to do his talking through results rather than speaking to the press.
Heard it all before— Matt Vicary (@Vicaz22) September 22, 2019
Play to what pace though he is going on like the football has been good’ it’s all boring static slow rubbish. Not a mention either on maybe he might see a 433 something he stated when joining he wanted to implement on his team here’ quick passing’ movement’ pressing. This should be as standard. People aren’t listening to these so called rallying cries anymore. We hear it over 20 times a season.— Mack Bedford (@MackBedford) September 23, 2019

No better than when Koeman and fat Sam were in charge, need to get rid of Silva before it’s too late.— Mal in Crete (@malincrete) September 23, 2019
We couldn’t have been more Everton if we tried on Saturday, another rallying cry that falls on deaf ears. Idiot.— Gerard May (@Admiralbutthead) September 22, 2019
Boring, we have been here before.— Mack Bedford (@MackBedford) September 23, 2019
He needs to go, got zero confidence in him or his crazy team selections. He is being shown up as 1 way Silva, the exit door should be his way! pic.twitter.com/ko1E80d7o7— Geoff Morris #MGWV (@nighthawkgeoff) September 23, 2019
How can Silva tell the players to Everton when he clearly doesn’t have a clue what Everton is himself?— Ad George (@AdGeo1878) September 22, 2019
Everton are in action later this evening against Sheffield Wednesday, when there is now extreme pressure on his side.
If the Toffees do lose then frustrations will only rise at Goodison Park, and that could prove hugely costly to Silva.
