Celtic's Greg Taylor cup-tied for Partick test

Neil Lennon, Manager of Celtic looks on prior to the Ladbrokes Premiership match between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox Stadium on September 01, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Celtic are not allowed to play Greg Taylor in the League Cup tomorrow night.

Celtic fans hoping to catch a glimpse of Greg Taylor might have to wait a little longer.

Taylor joined the Hoops from Kilmarnock in a £2.2 million switch earlier this month [The Daily Mail], but the Scottish left-back hasn't yet made his debut.

Lennon is expected to ring the changes for tomorrow's visit of Partick Thistle in the League Cup and some fans had hoped to see the 21-year-old in action.

But having played for the Rugby Park side earlier in the competition, Taylor is ineligible to make his long-awaited Celtic debut tomorrow.

Instead, Saturday's trip to Hibernian offers the earliest possible bow, but Boli Bolingoli is Lennon's first-choice option at left-back these days and even then Taylor might have to settle for a spot on the bench.

Bolingoli slowly but surely adapted to life at Parkhead following quite an ominous start, but he has been brilliant since the win over Rangers at the start of the month and if the Belgian defenders maintains his form, Taylor will continue to warm the bench.
