Leeds United endured yet another frustrating afternoon in front of their own supporters over the weekend as they failed to secure all three points against Derby County despite dominating the Championship encounter.
Don Goodman praised the 'all-round top display' of Patrick Bamford despite the striker being 'frustrated' at not scoring during Leeds United's 1-1 draw with Derby on Saturday.
Sky Sports pundit Goodman also praised versatile player Stuart Dallas for his 'brilliant' performance, as the Northern Irishman played as a right-back on paper, but was in Derby's final third for most of the time.
Despite such dominance from the home team, they only walked away with one point, as they top the Championship table after eight matches.
Speaking on Sky Sports Football (21/09/2019), former striker Goodman believes the only thing missing from Bamford's game over the weekend was a goal to his name.
"This is the thing here, I have to say Patrick Bamford has been brilliant in this game," Goodman told Sky Sports. "His closing down, his intensity, intelligent runs and his touch. The only thing is he hasn't been able to convert very presentable opportunities.
"Only thing missing from an absolutely all-round top striking display is a goal. He's been excellent other than that. You can see the frustration on his face, can't you, Patrick Bamford.
On Dallas: "He is a right-back, isn't he? Am I missing something? He spends so much time in those forward areas and large parts of it in that Derby County penalty area. He has been brilliant."
The EFL Cup will take place in midweek, but Leeds aren't in action, so that will give them that extra rest compared to some of their opponents.
But the fixture list is starting to mount up and this Saturday, Leeds will travel to the Valley, where they will take on Charlton, who are managed by former Whites player Lee Bowyer.
Charlton are sitting eighth in the Championship table and are only three points off the top as the table.
