According to The Express, Manchester United have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz – but have been quoted £90million to sign him.
Havertz, 20, joined the Leverkusen ranks having started out with hometown club Alemannia Aachen, and he has become a star in Germany.
The playmaker hit 20 goals and seven assists last season, and it's no great surprise that he's attracting major interest off the back of his performances for Leverkusen.
Havertz allegedly wants a move next summer, and Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has pushed for the Red Devils to get involved in the battle for him.
Rivals Manchester City and Liverpool are already keen on Havertz, whilst Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are interested too, meaning Leverkusen may face a bidding war next summer.
It's even added that Leverkusen would demand a huge £90million fee for the youngster, and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool or Manchester United splash the cash to sign him.
Liverpool may be in a stronger position given that he would be joining fellow German Jurgen Klopp, and joining a team pushing for the Premier League title and challenging for the Champions League.
United may be more willing to pay big money though, and they will be hoping to lure Havertz to Old Trafford rather than see him go to one of their bitter rivals.
