Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Chris Wood for Burnley against Norwich City.
Former Leeds striker Wood was in action for Burnley in their Premier League game against Norwich at Turf Moor on Saturday.
The former West Bromwich Albion man found the net first in the 10th minute and then on 14 minutes.
Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Wood’s heroics on the same day when Marcelo Bielsa’s side failed to convert a penalty against Derby County at Elland Road and played out a 1-1 draw in the Championship.
Below are some of the best comments:
Great team performance but still no line who can put the ball in the back of the new. Gotta start Eddie! We haven’t had a goal scorer since Wood! Bamford is overrated.— Charles Shaw (@cpmshaw) September 21, 2019
Would you have Wood back? I know i would. So scoring goals as a No9 is vital no matter what club they're at. If a No9 in a poor side out scores the one having the most chances created it speaks volumes.— paul warrick (LUFC) (@paulwarrick3) September 22, 2019
Seeing Chris Wood put 2 past Norwich after we couldn't put away a pen. #lufc— OB1 (@therealOB1984) September 22, 2019
he’d bag 40 in this side— Armo (@Jordan_Armo) September 21, 2019
IMAGINE how many goals Chris Wood would get in a season with this Leeds team #lufc— Matt Reynolds (@GoTkunt) September 21, 2019
My Opinion, but we haven't had a decent striker in since Chris Wood #lufc— Andy Hargreaves (@andylufc1919) September 21, 2019
Super Chris Wood!— Jacko (@LufcJacko) September 21, 2019
In other news, good to see Chris Wood is on a hat-trick— Jonny Chick (@jonnychick__) September 21, 2019
Always liked him #lufc
And in other news. Chris Wood has just scored his 2nd for Burnley— Austin LUFC Pillay (@Austin4evaLEEDS) September 21, 2019
Correct! Imagine Billy Sharp, Pukki, Chris Wood in this team— Mark Ramm (@LufcRammy) September 21, 2019
chris wood, two shots two goals, the things i’d do for him to be back at leeds #LUFC— Josh (@joshjoness01) September 21, 2019
Just to top it off Chris Wood has scored... What I'd give for him to come back he'd be on about 10 goals already this season #lufc— Mark Schofield (@Scoffer8) September 21, 2019
Wood joined Burnley from Leeds in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £15 million.
The New Zealand international striker scored 44 goals in 88 appearances for Leeds during his time at Elland Road, as reported on BBC Sport.
