Manchester City sent a warning to Liverpool this afternoon with an 8-0 pummeling of Watford.

Pep Guardiola's side went into the day with a five-point deficit to the European champions following their shock defeat by Norwich City last weekend.

But the Sky Blues reminded Liverpool of their sheer power with a ruthless victory over the Hornets at Eastlands this afternoon.

Incredibly, the hosts cruised into a 5-0 lead before the 20-minute mark, before Bernardo Silva made it seven by completing his hat-trick with two more second-half goals, with Kevin De Bruyne adding an eighth late on.
