Unsworth was impressed with the performance of Evans for the Everton Under-23 side against their Brighton and Hove Albion counterparts at the American Express Community Stadium on Friday.
The 20-year-old winger scored a brilliant goal for the Merseyside outfit in their 2-1 win.
Unsworth has spoken highly of Evans, and the Everton Under-23 boss has outlined the youngster’s calibre.
Unsworth told Everton’s official website about Evans: “It was a world-class finish from Antony and a fitting goal to win any game. He is a quality young player. He has that ability in abundance.
“He needs to find some more consistency, but I love him as a player. He has got great qualities. His work-rate tonight was incredible.
“He played from the right, and then went to the left because that’s what we needed at the time. As well as his goal, he did a great job for the team.”
Evans has yet to break into the Everton first team, but the 20-year-old has been out on loan at Morecambe and Blackpool in recent years.
The winger does need to add consistency to his game, but there is no doubt that the Englishman is hugely talented and has a lot of potential.
If Evans plays like he did against Brighton and scores the kind of goal he did against the Seagulls, then it is only a matter of time before he is given a chance in the Everton first team.
