The Everton U23s prodigy used to be at Liverpool but is now making waves for the Toffees.

Everton have proudly posted a video clip of Toffees Under-23s prodigy Antony Evans scoring a simply sensational goal to give the Goodison Park side victory in their latest Premier League 2 game.

David Unsworth’s charges ran out 2-1 winners away at Brighton, the victory sending the unbeaten young Blues top of the Premier League 2 table, although Chelsea could leapfrog the Toffees with a win at Leicester City on Saturday.

Anthony Gordon’s second-minute strike looked like proving decisive, but opposition defender Warren O’Hora looked to have seized a point for the home side one minute from time, rifling home from close range.

Then along came Evans, who picked up the ball on the left-hand side, backtracked initially to gauge his next move, then from around 25 yards out and from a fairly tight angle, he let rip with a rocket of a shot which left Hugo Keto grasping at thin air.

Described by Unsworth as “world class”, the goal was proudly showed off by the Everton social media channel:

Evans, who had previously been at Merseyside rivals Liverpool, joined Everton’s academy at the age of nine and signed scholarship forms at Goodison Park in the summer of 2015 (official Everton website) – according to Transfermarkt, he is contracted to Everton until the end of the current season.
