Jurgen Klopp reportedly turned down the chance to bring £58m Chelsea star Christian Pulisic to the Premier League with Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp opted against bringing Christian Pulisic to Liverpool in the summer of 2018. Now, he will be praying that this decision does not come back to haunt him when the early Premier League leaders travel to Stamford Bridge.
Pulisic has already produced once sparkling performance against Liverpool this season after all. He was the best player on the pitch during the UEFA Super Cup, announcing himself to Chelsea fans in style with a performance full of speed, skill and a decisiveness that is so rare for players barely out of their teens.
Chelsea invested £58 million in arguably the most exciting American footballer of all time, according to the BBC, but in another world he could have been lining up against his current club in the red of Liverpool instead this weekend.
But, according to The Times, Klopp decided against raiding former employers Borussia Dortmund, choosing instead to sign Xherdan Shaqiri in a deal that ended up costing the European champions about £40 million less.

“He will be a proper player, he is and he will be, a big talent”, Klopp told the Metro ahead of the glamour clash in West London.
“Dynamic, pretty good with both feet, super-exciting player. A good signing, I have to say.”
Liverpool fans might be scratching their heads, wondering why Klopp decided against snapping up a forward who, in his own words, is a ‘super-exciting’ talent.
But Pulisic will need to produce one hell of a performance against the Merseyside giants to prove that he could have usurped Sadio Mane, Mo Salah or Roberto Firmino at Anfield.
