The former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder has predicted that Villa will struggle in the top flight of English football this season.
Dean Smith’s side clinched promotion from the Championship via the playoffs at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
O’Hara said about Villa on talkSPORT (6:45am, Friday, September 20, 2019): “I think they will struggle to be honest. I lived there when I was at Wolves and they are such a big club. I loved playing there.
“But I just think they will struggle. They have brought in a lot of players and I just don’t see them staying up.”
Villa invested a lot of money in the squad in the summer transfer window, and signed a number of players, including Matt Targett, Marvelous Nakamba and Tom Heaton.
The Villans are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with four points from five matches, level on points with 18th-placed Newcastle United.
Smith’s side have not made a strong start to the season, but the Villa Park faithful should be optimistic.
With players such as Jack Grealish, John McGinn and Tyrone Mings in the team, Villa can only get better in the coming weeks and months, and they should comfortably avoid the dreaded drop back to the Championship.
