DeAndre Yedlin will be hoping to put recent injury problems behind him as he aims to make a return to Newcastle United's starting fold.

Some Newcastle United supporters on Twitter are eager to see the return of DeAndre Yedlin after he shared his thoughts on his recent injury problems.

The 26-year-old is yet to play a game this season as he stated that for the past 18 months he has been plagued by on-off groin problems, which he has since sorted, as reported by The Chronicle.

Yedlin underwent surgery towards the back end of the previous Premier League campaign and he has since returned to first-team training.

There are some Newcastle fans that are grateful to see him return because it provides Steve Bruce with more options and quality.

When Yedlin can properly push for a starting birth he will be battling Emil Krafth and Javier Manquillo for a starting birth, but there's no doubt that Newcastle are missing that rawness and pace he provides on the flanks.

A lot has changed since Yedlin played for Newcastle, with a change in manager from Rafa Benitez to Bruce, and new players introduced into the squad.

The Magpies have made an indifferent start to the season - their standout performance was their 1-0 win at Spurs, but they did produce a horror show of performance against Norwich also.

Either way, Yedlin, who earns £30k-a-week at St James' Park [Spotrac], will be eager to prove his worth once again and help Newcastle move out of the relegation zone.

At the weekend, Bruce's side will welcome 16th-placed Brighton to St James' Park, with games against Leicester and Manchester United following before another international break intervenes.
