Just like ITV, the BBC have a penchant for creating fascinating and intriguing dramas and their latest programme, The Capture, is no different.
The series follows the likes of The Night Manager, Line of Duty and Bodyguard in becoming a must-watch drama series on the BBC.
However, after making its way to our screens on September 3rd, the series is already a number of episodes in but just how many will there be in total?
What is The Capture about?
The Capture tells the story of a former soldier who has returned from the front lines in Afghanistan after being acquitted of war crimes.
However, on his return home, Lance Corporal Shaun Emery finds himself accused of the kidnapping and murder of his own barrister, something which is backed up by damning CCTV evidence.
Although, not all is as it seems as a rookie detective, Rachel Carey, begins to uncover a sinister conspiracy that calls into question the validity of the CCTV footage.
How many episodes?
In total, The Capture will run for six episodes.
The Capture got underway on September 3rd and has continued each Tuesday since, airing at 9pm on BBC One.
The sixth and final episode is due to air on the same channel, at the same time, on Tuesday, October 8th.
Will there be a series 2?
At the time of writing, it is unknown whether The Capture will get a second series.
For a start, the series finale is yet to air so we don't know whether the show will come to a neat and satisfying conclusion or will leave us in suspense with a cliffhanger ending. If the show is wrapped up in the final few episodes then we'll likely not get a second series.
On top of that, IMDb lists The Capture as a mini-series which often means that there will be only one series, a prominent and recent example of this would be HBO and Sky Atlantic's Chernobyl.
It's simply a matter of remaining patient before we find out if a second series will indeed be heading our way.
In the meantime, episodes one to four of The Capture currently are available to stream now on BBC iPlayer and the fifth and penultimate episode of the series is due to air on Tuesday, October 1st at 9pm on BBC One.
