The Rangers winger has yet to feature for Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox outfit this season.

Steven Gerrard has told the official Rangers website that he may have to rush Jamie Murphy back to action.

Murphy has yet to reappear for Rangers’ first-team after suffering cruciate ligament damage at the start of last season.

The 30-year-old was linked with a move away from Ibrox during this summer’s transfer window, but no such opportunity materialised.

And with Jordan Jones and Ryan Kent sidelined for ‘three to four’ and ‘a couple’ of weeks, respectively, Murphy’s senior career might not be over yet.

The lifelong Rangers fan finally arrived at Ibrox in January 2018 and, according to Transfermarkt, has scored or assisted 19 goals in 27 Gers outings.

And it is little wonder, therefore, that the following Rangers fans would be keen to see him back involved.

Murphy has been working on his fitness since the start of the summer and, according to Graeme Murty, asked to feature in Rangers reserves’ behind-closed-doors friendly with Hibernian last week.
