Huddersfield Town certainly aren’t Chelsea.
They don’t have a Tammy Abraham, a Mason Mount or a Willian but you’ve still got to beat those in front of you and, while Wolverhampton Wanderers were humiliated by Chelsea at Molineux, Dominic Iorfa produced a fine display during a valuable away win for Sheffield Wednesday.
The former England U21 international rose through the ranks in the Black Country but found himself well down the pecking order once Nuno Espirito Santo took over. According to Sky Sports, Wolves sold one of their own to Sheffield Wednesday for just £500,000.
And, less than 24 hours after Wolves suffered their heaviest defeat of the Nuno era with Real Madrid loanee Jesus Vallejo enduring a chastening debut against an Abraham-inspired Chelsea, Iorfa was classy and composed throughout Garry Monk’s first game in charge of The Owls at the John Smith’s Stadium.
With three tackles and a game-high seven clearances, Iorfa produced arguably his finest performances in Wednesday colours as he continues to rebuild his reputation away from Molineux.
But Iorfa has a long way to go yet if he wants to prove that Wolves were wrong to cash in.
Should change your first name to Dominant after that performance.— Mike (@13Mikeyb) 15 September 2019
