Leeds United re-united with a number of their former players when they beat Barnsley on Sunday afternoon.

Danny Mills has claimed that Barnsley striker Mallik Wilks caused 'problems' for Leeds United on Sunday as they beat their neighbours 2-0 at Oakwell.

A number of ex-Leeds players came up against their former club at the weekend, and someone like Wilks should have perhaps scored during the game given the chances that opened up for him.

Whilst Leeds created the most chances and should have scored a lot earlier than they did, the home team themselves did make it an end-to-end game at times.

Nonetheless, speaking to Sunday Exclusive on TalkSport (15/09/2019 14:20 pm), Mills shared his thoughts on Wilks, who he believes was a 'thorn' in Leeds United's side.

"Wilks has been a problem for Leeds," Mills told TalkSport. "With his pace and raw power. He has got himself into a couple of decent positions, he just hasn't quite had the composure to finish it off.

"Wilks has been a thorn in their side. With his pace and power, he has got into good situations at times because Leeds are brave. They are happy to leave at two on two, or three on three at the back."

It was a pretty entertaining encounter at Oakwell, but in the end, Leeds deserved all three points as Eddie Nketiah made a difference when he came off the bench.

It was a much-needed three points for Marcelo Bielsa's side because with the top two - Swansea and Charlton - losing on Saturday afternoon, it now means Leeds go back to the top of the table.

They face a difficult test against struggling Derby County on Saturday - the Rams knocked them out of the Championship play-off semi-finals last season.
