Blackburn fans react to reports linking their side with former Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby

Holtby, who spent two-and-a-half-years at Tottenham Hotspur, could return to England with Blackburn Rovers.

Blackburn Rovers fans are reacting to reports linking their side with a move for the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Lewis Holtby.

According to Fussball Transfers, Holtby is in intensive talks to return to English football - where he last played for Tottenham in 2015 - with Blackburn.

 

The 28-year-old - who is Germany-born and -raised but has an English father - is a free agent after leaving Hamburg SV at the end of last season and is said to have had interest from the Turkish giants, Besiktas, earlier this summer.

But it was Blackburn that Holtby's promoters, Noack Sports, visited at the weekend.

And several of a Rovers persuasion are expressing their excitement at the prospect of signing the one-time Tottenham man, on Twitter...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Holtby only played 42 times in his two-and-a-half-year Tottenham spell, which included loans at Fulham and Hamburg.

But according to the following Tottenham supporters, he could prove a useful addition for Blackburn.
