Leeds United moved back to the top of the Championship table on Sunday afternoon.

Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel has raved about Leeds United and claimed that they are the ‘best team’ in the Championship and he is ‘proud’ in the manner in which his team performed against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Leeds moved back to the top of the Championship table on Sunday afternoon when they beat their local rivals 2-0 – Eddie Nketiah and Mateusz Klich scored the late goals.

Prior the international break, the Whites had suffered a home defeat against Swansea City, who at the time moved to the top of the table, but they were beaten by Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with Leeds capitalising and moving top.

Nonetheless, after the game, Barnsley’s senior wasn’t too disappointed in the manner in which his team performed because of the quality of opposition they were up against.

It won’t be the first time that Leeds have been complimented in such a manner by an opposing manager or set of players because they do play some of, if not the best football in the second tier of English football.

Many backed Leeds to be where they currently are before a ball was kicked this season, but their biggest test will come during the latter stages of the season.

That is what let them down last term, but there’s no doubt that the players, the manager and the supporters would have learnt a hell of a lot from that experience.

Leeds will be hoping to continue their strong start to the season when they welcome Derby County to Elland Road next Saturday.
