Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Miguel Almiron against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

Almiron was in action for Newcastle in their Premier League game against Liverpool away from home at Anfield.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder was expected to be the creative spark against the Reds, but the Paraguay international failed to turn up.

Almiron had one good chance with a header, but other than that, he failed to do much of note.

According to WhoScored, the midfielder had a pass accuracy of 64.3%, and made two tackles and one interception.

Almiron has not been playing well for the Magpies this season, and it is clear that he needs to step up.

Newcastle cannot carry passengers in their team, as like in previous seasons, they will be fighting for survival in the Premier League this season.

Steve Bruce’s side played well in the first half, but the gulf in class showed when Roberto Firmino came on in the 37th minute and changed the game.

Newcastle fans were not impressed with the display produced by Almiron against Liverpool and have criticised him on Twitter.
