Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Serge Aurier is back in his thinking ahead of his side match against Crystal Palace.
Aurier has not played for Spurs at all this season, after speculation over his future was rife in the summer.
No buyers ended up being found for Aurier, and the Ivorian has remained at Hotspur Way.
Pochettino has overlooked Aurier so far, even with Spurs having limited options at right-back.
But the Spurs boss has now included the 26-year-old in the list of options he is considering for Tottenham at Crystal Palace.
“We have plenty of options for Saturday. Of course, we played Davinson Sanchez. Kyle, after his injury, is with the group and Serge Aurier,” he said.
“On the other side we have Ben Davies, Danny Rose and Ryan Sessegnon. We need to assess tomorrow the cases of Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan and Kyle tomorrow what condition they are in. We have seven games in 21 days. It’s going to be tough and we need all at their best.”
With Kyle Walker-Peters only just recovering from injury, Juan Foyth still sidelined, and Davinson Sanchez also picking up a knock, Aurier could be Spurs’s best option at right-back now.
The former PSG man has been far from consistent since arriving from Tottenham, but he is at least a natural in the position.
Tottenham are under pressure to beat Palace, after what has been a slow start to the campaign.
