Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochetino has admitted to the London Evening Standard that he still doesn’t know Ryan Sessegnon’s best position.

Sessegnon joined Tottenham from Fulham this summer, but he is yet to play a game for his new club.

The youngster has struggled with injury since signing up at Hotspur Way, and has only recently returned to training.

Sessegnon played at both left-back and left-wing with Fulham, with his versatility being a major positive.

And Pochettino admits that he hasn’t yet decided where he wants to use the new Tottenham signing.

“I cannot tell you today where he will play,” Pochettino said. “We’ll see. Because [on Thursday] was the first day he was involved with the whole team and still he’s not had one tactical session with us.

“We were just six or seven players training in the last week and still I cannot tell if he’s going to play in one or another position. We’re going to assess him and we’ll see how he adapts.”

Sessegnon may well be in Tottenham’s squad for the first time when they take on Crystal Palace tomorrow.

With Danny Rose struggling for form there could be a chance that he comes in as a defender, but he could also offer Spurs a good option in a more advanced role.

Sessegnon is quick and likes to run at defenders, and he also has shown a good goalscoring touch, even though most his strikes have come at Championship level.

Tottenham are under pressure to beat Crystal Palace tomorrow, after what has been a slow start.
