Jermaine Beckford has spoken highly of Arsenal-owned Leeds United striker Eddie Nketiah to Football League World.

The 35-year-old former Leeds striker believes that Nketiah is “lethal”, and has said that he loved watching him play.

Beckford told Football League World about Nketiah: “Eddie is brilliant as well. He’s lethal. His positioning is fantastic and I absolutely love watching him – his finishing is also good.

“I think Eddie is in a little bit of a difficult position. He’s definitely going to get his chance to play week in, week out, I think the boss just wants to feel him out a little bit more and make sure he is in tune with everything.”

Stats

Nketiah joined Championship club Leeds on loan from Premier League outfit Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

According to WhoScored, the England Under-21 international striker has scored one goal in 58 minutes of Championship for the Whites and two goals in two EFL Cup ties for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Important player

With Leeds aiming to finish in the top two of the Championship table this season, Nketiah will be an important player for the West Yorkshire outfit.

Patrick Bamford is the first-choice striker at Leeds at the moment, but Nketiah will get chances in the coming weeks and months.

The 20-year-old will be hoping to develop and progress nicely under Bielsa this campaign so that he can break into the Arsenal first team next season.
