Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has reportedly split from his agent.
According to The Times, Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has parted ways with his agent having missed out on a summer move to Everton.
The 26-year-old attacker hit 10 goals and five assists for Palace last season, and he unsurprisingly attracted interest over the summer transfer window.
Arsenal were keen before eventually signing his international teammate Nicolas Pepe instead, and Everton launched a £50million bid, which was rejected.
Zaha made it clear that he wanted to leave Palace, but Steve Parish seemingly felt that selling him would severely damage Palace's chances of staying in the Premier League, so stood firm.
It's now claimed that Zaha felt that Everton was a step up even though they didn't have European football, so was willing to make the move to Goodison Park.
He's been left so frustrated at being forced to stay with the Eagles that he has now sacked agent Will Salthouse, with the FA told of their dispute.
Zaha – earning £130,000-a-week at Palace – is described as 'most unhappy' that he's still with Palace, and it seems that Salthouse has paid the price for failing to secure that move.
Everton signed Alex Iwobi instead, meaning a 2020 move may not even be possible anymore, and Zaha will be left hoping that somebody – possibly a new agent – can get him that big move next year.
