Tottenham Hotspur had been linked with the England star when he was at Manchester City.

Tottenham Hotspur not signing Jadon Sancho may rank among one of their worst transfer decisions ever.

As a 17-year-old, ESPN reported how Sancho wanted to join Tottenham.

However, Spurs decided against moving for the youngster, who was then at Manchester City, as they wouldn’t release him to play.

Sancho would have had to wait until the end of his scholarship to be able to represent Tottenham, and the North London club decided against waiting around for him.

If they had their time again, Spurs would surely have pushed harder for Sancho though.

The flying attacker has been in nothing short of sensational form ever since he left City, with Borussia Dortmund being the club to benefit from showing faith in him.

Sancho has quickly become one of the most feared attackers in Germany, and he looks like he could be England’s brightest prospect for years.

The teenaged flyer scored twice for the Three Lions in their 5-3 win over Kosovo in midweek.

Sancho’s brilliant display in that contest may well have pushed him ahead of Marcus Rashford in the pecking order for his country, and Tottenham got a glimpse of what might have been.

Harry Kane and Sancho linked up to devastating affect against Kosovo, with the pair complimenting each other perfectly.

If Spurs had that partnership to call upon at club level, they would arguably have the finest attack in the Premier League - with Heung Min-Son also involved.

And, given that Sancho is now valued at £100 million (Daily Mail), Spurs must badly regret their decision not to go for the Dortmund man when he was desperate for a move to Hotspur Way.
