Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson seems to have taken a dig at Everton over their pursuit of Wilfried Zaha in the summer, as quoted on Skysports.com.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal and Everton were interested in signing Zaha from Premier League rivals Palace in the summer transfer window.

The Liverpool Echo has claimed that the Toffees made a bid of £52 million for the former Manchester United winger back in July, and it was rejected.

Palace manager Hodgson has suggested that no bids came from a bigger club than the Eagles for the 26-year-old, and has appeared to have taken a dig at Everton’s stature.

Hodgson told Sky Sports about Zaha: "We understood that if a really big offer comes his way and a much bigger club than Crystal Palace want him, and he is desperate to go, we are going to have to try and do some kind of deal.

"The unfortunate thing for Wilf is that offer did not come his way from the sort of club that he would want.”

Crystal Palace stay

Zaha is one of the best wingers in the Premier League, and him staying at Palace this season is only going to enhance the Eagles’ chances of staving off relegation to the Championship.

According to WhoScored, the 26-year-old winger has made three starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Palace so far this season.

in 2018-19, Zaha made 34 appearances in the league for the Eagles, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
