West Ham United youngster Conor Coventry has earned plaudits for Ireland fans, after he helped them to a 3-1 win over Sweden.

The West Ham prospect started in Ireland’s midfield against Sweden, and played his part as his country pulled off an impressive comeback.

Ireland were 1-0 down against Sweden in the second half, but they struck three late goals to pick up the victory.

And the West Ham man was delighted to have helped his nation win.

The response from Ireland supporters towards the West Ham prospect was certainly impressive, as his reputation continues to build.

Some fans of the Boys in Green were worried that Coventry may emulate his West Ham teammate Declan Rice, and change his allegiance to England after representing them at youth level though.

Coventry is considered to be one of the best talents in West Ham’s development squad at the moment.

The 19-year-old was handed his first team debut by Manuel Pellegrini earlier this season, as West Ham beat Newport County in the EFL Cup.

Coventry will be hoping for more first team chances as the season progresses, with the youngster starting to emerge as a very exciting prospect.
