A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Serge Aurier captaining Ivory Coast to a 2-1 victory over Tunisia in Tuesday's international friendly.
The Spurs right-back skippered his nation at the Stade Robert-Diochon as Roger Assalé opened the scoring for the visitors just after the break and Seko Fofana added a second on 75 minutes.
Although Tunisia halved the deficit late on through Naïm Sliti, Ivory Coast held on for victory as they continue to fine-tune preparations ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, with the second round of CAF qualifying set to begin in March next year.
Aurier may be a key player for his nation but at Tottenham he is yet to get a minute of Premier League action for Mauricio Pochettino this season, twice being named on the bench and twice failing to make the squad altogether (Transfermarkt).
Quite a few Spurs fans responded to Tottenham's tweet praising the 26-year-old for his Ivory Coast exploits by calling out for him to be picked by the club manager:

Tottenham signed Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017 for a reported £23million fee (BBC Sport), is reported to be on £70,000-per-week (Spotrac) and to date he has made 41 Spurs appearances (Transfermarkt).
Up next for Spurs is Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at the Tottenham Hotspur Arena.
