Leeds United were said to be interested in snapping up the young defender, but they failed to get a deal over the line.
Leeds have kept a keen eye on the centre-back, who is currently contracted to Hamilton.
However, East Kilbride have now got the 19-year-old on loan, and Malcom was well aware of Leeds’ interest in the youngster.
“I’ve read Leeds and other English Championship clubs are looking at him, so we are delighted to get him on loan,” he said.
“We are part of his development now and I’m sure he will do well for us.
“We are desperate to get him involved, but he isn’t back until Thursday from international duty.
“He’s a big lump of a boy in terms of his physique, good with the ball at his feet and strong in the air as well, so as a centre-half he is everything we are looking for.”
Leeds may not be too disappointed to miss out on Stanger at this stage, as his loan move allows the youngster to get more first-team experience under his belt.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side may be keeping tabs on the youngster, but he would likely have been added to their under-23 side if he had joined Elland Road.
At East Kilbride Stanger has an opportunity to learn his trade, and it would be no shock to see Leeds return for the prospect if he does impress in future.
Leeds have kept a keen eye on young talent across Britain, and across the continent, in recent times, with a number of players signing up to be added to their under-23 side.
