Leeds United fans call for Ben White for England over Everton's Michael Keane

Everton defender Michael Keane got the nod for England last night, but Leeds United fans want Ben White in the squad.

Ben White of Leeds United is shown a yellow card during the Sky Bet Championship match between Wigan Athletic and Leeds United at the DW Stadium, Wigan on Saturday 17th August 2019.

Leeds United fans claim that Ben White is better than Everton’s Michael Keane and should be playing for England.

White has just joined Leeds on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion and he has made a hugely impressive start to the season in the Championship.

Everton man Keane, meanwhile, was at fault for first goals which England conceded in their 5-3 victory over Kosovo last night.

Keane gave the ball away early on, which allowed Kosovo to go on and grab the lead in the contest.

And Leeds fans think that White should be getting international recognition over the Everton centre-back.

Gareth Southgate has previously suggested that England players need to be playing in the Premier League, so any Three Lions call-up looks some way off for White for the time being.

The Leeds centre-back is quickly developing into one of the most exciting talents in the Championship though, and if he can continue to improve at his current rate, then international recognition may not be beyond him.

Keane, meanwhile, will hope that his error does not affect his chances of playing for England too much in the future.

The Everton defender is yet to establish his place in England's team, so his mistake last night could be costly.
