Artem Dzyuba has done little to dampen the speculation that he could be on his way to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020.
According to Rianfan, Wolves sent scouts to Hampden Park to watch Dzyuba bully Scotland’s defence into submission during Friday night’s Euro 2020 qualifier. The giant Zenit St Petersburg striker scored in Russia’s 2-1 win, his sixth international goal of the calendar year.
Everton and Crystal Palace are also reported to be keeping tabs on the 31-year-old and fans of The Toffees and The Eagles don’t need us to remind them about their lack of natural goalscorers in the final third.
But with Dzyuba confirming to Sport 24 that he has become the latest addition to Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute agency, a move to Wolves feels very much on the cards.
“Yes, I signed a contract with Mendes,” said the 6ft 5ins targetman, before admitting that he turned down a move to Everton in January.
Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota, Rui Patricio, Joao Moutinho, Pedro Neto, Helder Costa and Roderick Miranda are also on Mendes’ books and all signed for Wolves within the last three years.
Could Dzyuba be about to follow in their footsteps?
