Clarke stooped to head home Luke Bolton's right-wing cross, shortly after he missed another good chance to snatch a win against Switzerland.
And the goal serves as a timely reminder of the teenager's talent after his disappointing start to the season at Leeds, who loaned him straight back after his £10 million summer move to Tottenham.
Clarke has only played 115 minutes of senior football since then and has yet to appear at all in the Championship, where he has missed Marcelo Bielsa's last four matchday squads due to loanee quotas.
And those of a Tottenham persuasion are tweeting him in numbers, after both Spurs and Clarke posted on the social media site yesterday.
This is what they are saying...

Clarke's respective Tottenham and Leeds teammates, Japhet Tanganga and Jamie Shackleton, also featured in the U20s' success.
What should Tottenham do with the on-loan Leeds United winger in January?
